Srishti School of Classical Dance

Srishti Productions was formed by Vinitha Pratish, an eminent Bharatanatyam dancer and choreographer who has trained under renowned gurus like Smt. Sudharani Raghupathy, Smt. Deepa Ganesh, Sri Unnikrishnan and so on. Vinitha has been conducting shows in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Kuwait and has set her own niche where she has trained and molded budding artists to reach a professional level.

Srishti School of Classical Dance was formed in October 2017 by Vinitha to provide authentic and disciplined classes to students in Kuwait.

About

Srishti Productions was launched in 2005 in Dubai with an intention to promote Indian Classical Dance in the Gulf. Vinitha wanted to spread this art form to each and every person and not just to trained dancers. Hence , she created several dance dramas and thematic prodcutions that got her rave reviews. Srishti was inaugurated by Sri Soorya Krishnamoorthy in Dubai and Kuwait.

Later, Vinitha decided to spread her knowledge to young children and adults and Srishti School of Classical Dance was formed in October 2017 in Kuwait.

At Srishti, we are dedicated to preserving and imparting the Kalakshetra Bani of Bharatanatyam in its most authentic form. We follow a systematic yet engaging teaching approach that allows students to deeply connect with the art, rather than rushing into performances. Our goal is to cultivate not just dancers, but individuals who develop a lifelong love for Bharatanatyam.

While staying rooted in tradition, we also embrace a balanced approach to Abhinaya, blending conventional techniques with the realistic and expressive style of Kalanidhi Mami (Kalanidhi Narayanan). This ensures that students learn not only the structure but also the soul of storytelling through dance.

Through discipline, joy, and artistic exploration, we strive to create an environment where students cherish the journey as much as the destination, carrying forward the beauty of Bharatanatyam with passion and devotion.

Founder's Profile

Vinitha Pratish, a Bharatanatyam Dancer, Choreographer, Teacher, and Student formed Srishti Productions in 2005 - A platform to promote Indian Classical Dance in the Gulf. Srishti School of Classical Dance was initiated in Kuwait in 2017 by Vinitha, where she trains children and adults in Bharatanatyam. She is a Computer Engineer but her passion for Bharatanatyam led her to attain a Masters in Bharatanatyam . She has been trained under renknowned Gurus namely Guru Sri Unnikrishnan (Kalakshetra), Smt. Deepa Ganesh, Padmashri Prof. Smt Sudharani Raghupathy, Smt. Shobana Balachandra, Sri Kalamandiram Mohan,late Sri Sahadevan, Smt. Kalamandalam Sumathy and Smt. Asha Sharath. She has also had the blessing to learn from Abhinaya Maestro, late Padma Bhushan Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan.

What is the right age to start learning Bharatanatyam?

The appropriate age to learn Bharatanatyam would be 6 years.

Is it possible to start learning Bharatanatyam at an older age?

It is absolutely fine to learn at any age, however it is essential to consider ones health and not over do as it may cause injury. A routine of warm up must be strictly followed prior to the dance.

I want to learn Bharatanatyam as it is a very good form of exercise.

Bharatanatyam is not an exercise, it is an art form. You can practise fitness regimes like Yoga , cardio and strength training in order to strengthen your body in order to train well in this art form

How long will it take for me to perform on stage?

It is good not to go with any timelines as it differs from person to person. Just like how we encourage stage performances, we also encourage the students to be patient and learn without an external purpose, rather learn with commitment and dedication.
